Finally!
My second book, my sophomore book, my most personal account of a moment gone awry, is now available for the WORLD to read.
To say I am nervous is an understatement, but I knew that it needed to be written so that at least ONE person, ONE mom, dad, brother, sister, or family member, can be released from any and all guilt attached to the shame resulting from that moment.
It is a raw personal account of what I walked through for over 17 months. Each time I read a copy of the draft, my heart felt as if it would leap out of my chest. I felt the same feelings and emotions in every moment that I recounted. It is not a statement of a child gone wrong but a mother who felt lost in her circumstances. My son is beautiful, intelligent, and loved. His struggle was above my pay grade, and I didn’t understand that because I believed if I loved him well, this would all go away.
I hope this straightforward memoir of a mother’s life in a family’s home will help another mother and family move past the shame that is attached when life hits them with truly the unexpected.
I want to thank everyone who will take the time to read the book, and I hope you share it with someone who you believe will benefit from it.
