Yes, here we are again…and this time, I feel like we arrived in December rather quickly. I’m sure we can say that each year, but it seemed like it came abruptly for me.

I was navigating troubled waters this year, and the waves kept coming, and I spent a lot of time trying to get my footing, and when I did, bam, the year was coming to a close. So, yes, it seems like I arrived here rather quickly.

If you have been a follower and reader of my blogs, you know that I spend a deliberate and focused time during the Fall season to ask God to give me a focus for the new year. This year was the year of Silence. I felt the Silence in my spirit. It was a stillness that carried me when the waves were overwhelming, and on the days I thought I was drowning, the stillness brought me back to shore.

I felt incredibly strongly the words “New Season” in my focused time. As I enter 2023, I will be aware of a “New Season” in my life. However, I never know how those words will manifest or evolve throughout the year. Finding a focus is the beauty; you allow God to reveal the definition. We often want to decipher, imagine, or create what that should look like, but I have learned to no longer do that.

So as I walk in the Year of New Seasons, I anticipate a lot of expected unexpected.

Give yourself permission to envision what you may feel is your focus for the new year and then lay it before God. He alone will give the focus purpose and definition, and we will find that we will be prepared.

This is my focus –

Change, improvement, different possibilities, unexpected, release, unknown, shift, renewal, 

Color – Yellow (Caution, Courage, Joy, Honor, Hope, Something Good)

“I’ve also concluded that whatever God does, that’s the way it will always be. 

No addition, no subtraction. God’s done it, and that’s it. 

That’s so we’ll quit asking questions and simply worship in holy fear.“

May God grant you the desires of your heart that he believes will bring you joy and growth from your obedience.
