So…this thought came to me this morning… no, seriously, it was this morning. I had another schedule post for today, but after having my Instagram compromised and being hacked on Facebook and not being able to get back on until close to four years later because “I had violated community guidelines” meanwhile, someone is on Instagram using my name and picture, yes, my picture and I am unable to get their account down because “they are NOT violating community guidelines” I had to shake my head and laugh, because the only solution was to get my account “verified” which at one time, not too long ago, was set apart for content influencers, brands, celebrities and politicians, but now for for a small fee I too can become “verified” and “protected”….can you believe that…it’s like paying for a security guard online, instead of in person…

Seriously, we are living in wild times…I imagine that if we really sit and think about it, nothing, and I mean nothing in life is free, not even politeness when other are not, that comes with denying ourselves and controlling our self-will – there’s a cost there. Nope, not even air, I am convinced that those of us who live in California we pay for the sunshine, the ocean breeze, the mountains and views…along with the winds and fire via our taxes. I know I am being dramatic, but lately I feel everything is for sale.

Our goodwill…our common sense…our faith.

We have sold ourselves to the algorithms that make us feel good. We want to read articles that feed our right to be right. This all comes at a great and very high cost to and for…

…Humanity.

So, as we navigate our day-to-day, reflect on the cost of your words, what you listen to, the conversations you engage in, the media you let entertain you, and the articles that inform you. Each one of those exercises is costing you a reaction, a reflection, an engagement that may not lead to the outcome that will benefit anyone but yourself, and that cost is too high.

Stop selling your heart, mind, and soul because you want to right…how about if we were just kind.

Now that is priceless!
