In life, we need experts, and by that I mean folks who have studied, researched, and applied their knowledge to outcomes that serve the greater good.

Yet, lately, EVERYONE seems to be an expert on EVERYTHING.

We have shied away from those who have put in the hours and years of study and work to satisfy, cure, and relieve millions for the past several decades!

Social media has encouraged everyone and anyone to create a platform and convince their followers that they are experts and they have the answers to our troubles.

I’ve often questioned why I blog.

I’m frequently sought for my “opinion” on certain things. My intention, always and forever, in my writings, blogging, and posting is never to draw attention to my expertise, but to my experience in my life, in the hopes that something I have learned can inform yours.

I am not an expert on anything other than my own life. I hope that whatever I have experienced or any knowledge I have gained from simply living my life can inspire someone not to feel alone and take a chance on themselves.

I grow weary when there is a “new” expert online who is pontificating on the successes of their life and how “you too” can be successful and experience immeasurable joy.

It’s the brevity in their success that concerns me.

Nothing great in life happens overnight, and if it does, it is unlikely to be sustainable. We learn by trial and error, and experience, combined with tested expertise.

That comes over time, not overnight.

Are there prodigies? Are there highly gifted individuals who are not highly educated? Are there savants? Yup! How we choose to apply their expertise to our lives requires wisdom.

Stop chasing the dreams of those who are conjuring up an experience for you.

Find the dream that you dreamt for yourself and work towards that. Stop looking for the easy way out and do the work…the hard work.

It is then, when you will become an expert.
