Most of us know the fictional story of “Alice in Wonderland.” A little girl is bored, follows a white rabbit down a rabbit hole, and chaos ensues.

WELL…I fell down a rabbit hole of my own and found myself in mental, physical, and emotional chaos. What I found in my rabbit hole was a bunch of misinformation and judgment. Both causing me to strike back in ways that were uncharacteristic for me. I found myself defending myself, others, my self-worth, my opinions, my faith, and women.

Here I was playing a game of whack-a-mole, and the only one getting whacked was ME!

All for naught!

Trying to figure out how to climb my way out of it was going to be nothing short of a miracle.

I quickly began to look for my exit. Unlike Alice, this was NOT a dream. This had been my life for the past several months. Knowing that things were not going to get easier, I began to decide how I was going to show up without getting whacked.

This was not going to be easy. If you know me…I have opinions, thoughts, comments, and questions. Yet, this time, I was going to have to be measured with my opinions, thoughts, comments, and questions.

Matthew 7:6 – “Don’t waste what is holy on people who are unholy. Don’t throw your pearls to pigs! They will trample the pearls, then turn and attack you”(NLT)

And there it was.

I can have my opinions, thoughts, comments, and questions, but I must be wise about them, and that was the reason behind my whack-a-mole, rabbit-hole adventure.

Wisdom comes from hearing, and unfortunately, I found myself speaking, yelling, fighting, and there is no wisdom in that at all. There is only chaos. So, as Alice tried to make sense of all of her wanderings, I was able to understand all of mine.

Not everything needs an opinion, a question, or a comment. Most things need to be left alone.

I intend to do that with wisdom because I love my pearls.
