A few months back, when I simply could not write, I began to read my blogs from years past. I realized that reading my own words started to heal me. I found it fascinating that I was inspired to write what would heal me years later in my life. I had insight, for a moment, and it had enough conviction to carry me years later.
I was humbled at the thought that what was purposeful in that moment of my writing would not only benefit the reader but would come around to help me get over a difficult period in my own life. I am grateful for the readers who engage with me and let me know how my writings have encouraged them.
It is essential to write down what moves you; what feeds your soul. A lyric, a scripture, a verse, a chapter from a book, or simply a word.
At that moment, it may serve you, yet days, months, or even years later, it may be what saves you.
So write! Write what you feel, what you hear, what you see, even what you taste; those are the experiences that will carry you when you can’t feel, hear, see or taste. It will be a sweet reminder that what you once experienced can come again.
Words heal…even your own.
