Recently, I have found social media full of noise. Everyone is an expert on something, and everyone is trying to influence you to buy, try, or live as they suggest. At times, I have fallen prey to all the noise, scrolling, and purchasing items that either are a bust or a must.
Lately, however, I find myself in a different phenomenon, and that is the “Silent influencer.”
This is much different from the person who wants to be seen and heard. This is simply the person who lives their life in such a way that you desire what they have without all the cajoling you see on social media.
In the past several months, my husband and I have encountered instances when complete strangers have stopped us and told us we were #couplegoals. On another occasion, someone told us they saw us, smiled, and thought we were “truly couple goals.” Just recently, I walked into a wine shop in another country, and the store owner smiled at me and said, “Let me adjust your crown.” In all these instances, we were simply living our lives as only we know how…
In love, in peace, and with joy.
One evening, while out at dinner with my husband, I looked over at him, and I started to cry. I told him that when folks say these things to us and of us, it makes me very emotional because while we are not busy living our lives out loud, people are watching and listening. It hit me that no matter the platform, how we live matters.
I find it to be a greater responsibility to be a “silent influencer” because that is where folks truly see who you are with no filters no magical locations, no products to sell, completely unvarnished and raw.
Original lives…
I challenge you to become a “silent influencer.” No matter the platform of your life, remember that someone is watching and listening,
Live generously.
Live authentically
